Elise sales of Apple_s iPhone have DECLINED for the first time in company history The 2nd quarter results out Tuesday reported sales of 51 point 2 million units down 10 million from the same period last year. Revenue was ALSO down for the first time in THIRTEEN years with just 50 point 5 billion reported compared to 58 billion a year ago. It wasn_t ALL bad news though-Apple_s services division which includes iTunes the App Store and the newly created Apple Music saw revenue increase by 20 percent. ANOTHER major car-maker has admitted to falsifying data This time it_s Japan_s Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. The company revealed on Tuesday that it has been faking the results of fuel efficiency tests for the past 25 YEARS. All of the affected models were sold in Japan and include the eK wagon and eK Space light passenger cars as well as nearly 500 thousand cars produced for Nissan. The fraudulent reporting was identified after Nissan noticed inconsistencies in the test results. And employees at a US yogurt company are in line for a MASSIVE windfall Chobani is giving its 2 thousand workers up to 10 PERCENT of its shares. The company CEO called the bonus a mutual promise to work together with a shared purpose and responsibility. Employee Stock Ownership programs aren_t unusual but Chobani is giving these shares away for FREE The individual payouts will be based on how long an employee has been with the company. Donald Trump has turned his choice for running mate into a true spectacle that has voters and the media on pins and needles. Trump says he_s narrowed his choice down to four candidates but it_s believed there are two front runners: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Indiana Governor Mike Pence. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is another big name in the mix for the VP gig. So who will it be? No one knows just yet. Trump will make the big announcement Friday morning in Manhattan. Now to a surprising appointment in British politics. New Prime Minister Theresa May has made former journalist and London Mayor Boris Johnson the country_s top diplomat Johnson a key figure in the Brexit campaign who many expected to run for Prime Minister has been named UK Foreign Secretary. It_s a move that_s left many scratching their heads mainly because Johnson has a long history of putting his foot squarely in his mouth In April he ruffled feathers by blaming US President Barack Obama_s part-Kenyan ancestry for his dislike of the British Empire. In 2007 Johnson wrote a column describing Hillary Clinton as a quote sadistic nurse in a mental hospital. According to the BBC many stunned EU diplomats think Johnson_s appointment is a big joke. And a newly released Congressional report shows that Chinese spies hacked into the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation... and that American officials tried to cover it up New documents show the Chinese government accessed a dozen computers - including those of the agency_s top officials - between 2010 and 2013. The probe found that the FDIC hid the hacks to protect the job of Chairman Martin Gruenberg. The FDIC monitors banks that aren_t in the Federal Reserve system and hacking its servers would have exposed extremely sensitive info on more than 45-hundred banks nationwide. Pretty serious stuff. Scientists are laying blame at the usual suspects - global warming and an especially strong El Nino. As funny as it sounds you might want to start stocking up sunscreen now - 2016 is already predicted to be even HOTTER And US President Barack Obama has pledged his support to victims of the Flint Michigan water crisis. Speaking in nearby Detroit the president said he_d be BESIDE himself if HE were a parent in Flint. The president called the crisis an important reminder NOT to short-change basic services and said that he would fully back Mayor Karen Weaver during the terrible tragedy. Eila as part of his commitment the president declared a state-of-emergency freeing up additional money in federal aid.I hope they get to the bottom of how this happened in the first place and hold people accountable Thanks Isabella. GPS manufacturer TomTom has released its list of the world_s most congested cities. Istanbul gets the dubious honor of having the world_s WORST traffic. Turkey_s largest city is a gateway between Europe and Asia and has the heaviest traffic during peak hours on the planet. A 30-minute drive there will take you more than an hour during the evening rush Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro rounded up the top three spots. And over in North America Los Angeles keeps its crown as the least driver-friendly city - but ranks just 10th worldwide. A thousand-year old Anglo-Saxon concoction once used to treat eye infections could hold the key to a cure for the MRSA superbug Microbiologists went to work on a remedy translated from a 10th century medical textbook found at the British Library in London. The recipe uses basic ingredients like garlic wine and bile from a cow_s stomach. Amazingly when the medieval brew was tested on the antibiotic-resistant MRSA strain it killed 999 out of 1000 bacterial cells The team was dumbfounded by the surprising results saying the treatment is effective beyond their wildest dreams. And in Siberia oil workers drilling in the frozen tundra there have made an incredible discovery: the remains of a 10000 year old woolly mammoth The workers dug up two tusks teeth and rib bones of the giant mammal which was buried about ten feet deep. First up though a Naked news Bulletin with Peyton Priestly including a story about ONE MORE STATE to legalize Marijuana. Eila that state is Alaska. They_re now the THIRD state in the union to legalize the recreational use of marijuana A new measure that was approved in November took effect Tuesday. It lets people 21 and older carry up to an ounce of pot and own up to six plants. Now that doesn_t mean you can go light one up in public. That_s still strictly off-limits and carries a hundred dollar fine. Regulations for the retail sale of pot are still being ironed out and in Anchorage city organizers are planning an ad campaign on how to safely use the drug.The US Department of Veterans Affairs has been rocked by yet another scandal. Secretary Robert McDonald issued an apology on Monday for lying about having served in an elite special forces unit. The incident occurred last month during an overnight event with homeless vets in LA. McDonald was filmed telling an ex-special ops veteran that he had also been in special forces. He took over as Secretary last summer for retired Army General Eric Shinseki who resigned in the wake of a massive scandal involving poor medical care for VA patients. And the death toll linked to defective General Motors ignition switches has now risen to 57. GM has hired a team of legal experts to compile a list of eligible claims for compensation. Nearly five hundred death claims have been submitted but only the 57 eligible will receive payment. Each approved claim is worth at least one million dollars and so far GM is on the hook for close to one hundred million dollars. The process is far from over. Last year the automaker put aside 400 million dollars to cover the costs of the lawsuits. Don_t go away.
